Safety precautions
The information you need to prevent danger to the user and other people as well as property damage is
described below. "Description of signs" shows different categories of the degree of danger or damage
that may occur due to wrong handling.

Getting started
Recharging battery
This unit has a built-in Li-Polymer rechargeable battery. Before use, fully charge the battery by
connecting the unit to a computer or other devices made for USB charging through the included USB
cable.
Plug the micro USB end of the included USB cable into the USB port, marked '
' on the back
of this unit.
Plug the other end into a USB port on your computer or other devices made for USB charging.
The LED will glow red when charging. When the battery is full, it will glow blue. Charge time is 3
Hours from an empty battery.

A LED light is located at the front of the unit, indicating the various status/modes of the unit.

Description of signs
Indicates that there is a risk of death or serious injury.
Indicates that there is a risk of light injury or property damage.
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or product damage,

Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on this unit.
Do not use near bathtubs, washbowls, kitchen sinks, laundry tubs, in a wet basement, near a
swimming pool, or anywhere else that water is present.
Do not expose this unit to excessive heat such as direct sunlight, fire or the like.
Do not storage or use this unit inside cars in hot weather, where it can be exposed to
temperatures in excess of 60°C (115°F).
Do not attempt to charge the battery in temperatures outside the temperature range of 0°-40°C
(32°-104°F).
Do not step on, throw, or drop battery or the power supply or unit, or expose them to a strong shock.
Do not continue charging the battery if it does not reach full charge within the specified
charging time. Overcharging may cause the battery to become hot, rupture, or ignite.
Do not short-circuit the battery. Doing so may cause the battery and power supply to generate
heat, rupture, or ignite.
If the battery begins to leak, do not allow the liquid to come in contact with your skin or eyes.
If contact has been made, wash the affected area with plenty of water and seek medical attention
immediately.
The power supply must be used indoors only. It is neither designed nor tested for charging
outdoors, in recreation vehicles, or on boats.
Do not remove covers.
Use only the recommended accessories. Make no modifications to the product or accessories.
Unauthorized alterations may compromise safety, regulatory compliance, and system
performance, and will void the warranty.
Do not lubricate any part of the unit.
Do not repair this unit by yourself. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. Opening or
removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other hazards and will void the
manufacturer's warranty.
The unit contains small parts that may be a choking hazard and is not suitable for children
under age 3.
Place this unit on a level surface away from sources of direct sunlight or excessive heat.
Do not place any flame sources, such as lit candles, on or near the unit.
Do not place this unit on other electrical equipment.
Protect your furniture when placing this unit on a natural wood and lacquered finish. A cloth or
other protective material should be placed between it and the furniture.
Do not place this unit on high surfaces such as shelves. During music playback the unit may
vibrate and move which could cause the it to shift and fall off of the edge.

Listening to sound from a Bluetooth
device
®
Set-up and pairing via Bluetooth
for music playback and hands-free calling
®
In order to use this unit for music playback and Hands-free Calling through Bluetooth
®
, the speaker
must first be paired with the Bluetooth
device.
®
Note
This unit can pair with most Bluetooth
®
2.0 devices. Since the pairing procedure can vary by
device, please consult the Owner's manual of your device.
Putting the unit into pairing mode

Press and hold the
[Power ON/OFF] button to turn on the unit.
You will hear "Power On sound".

Press and hold the
button on this unit until the light on the front starts blinking red and blue.
This indicates that it is in pairing mode.

Once your device has detected the speaker, select "Toshiba TY-SP3".
If a security code is required for pairing, enter "0000"
Note
This unit will stay in pairing mode for 1 minutes. If you do not complete the next steps before then, turn
off the unit by pressing and hold the [Power ON/OFF] button, and then back to ON. Repeat step 2.
Controlling playback when connected via Bluetooth
®
Using the volume controls on the top of this unit, push the

Taking calls on connected to this unit
When you receive an incoming call, an alert will sound from the unit. If you are listening to music from
your Phone, the music will automatically pause.
Before the speakerphone feature of this unit can be used, you will need to pair and link your Bluetooth
enabled phone with this unit. Please refer to "Putting the unit into pairing mode".
To accept a call
You can accept a call as you usually do, using your phone controls or press
button of the unit. Speak
normally. Your call will come through the speakers and your voice picked up through the built-in
microphone.
To end a call
Use your Phone controls or press the
button.
To redial call
Press two time
button then Repeat to calling last income or send call number.

About Using Bluetooth
®
This unit is designed for use with Bluetooth
®
wireless devices compatible with the HFP, HSP, A2DP and
AVRCP streaming audio profiles. Refer to your Bluetooth
®
device's user manual or technical support to
determine if your Bluetooth
®
device supports these profiles.
Frequency band used
This unit uses the 2.4 GHz frequency band, however other devices may use this frequency as well. To
avoid interference with other wireless devices, please follow the cautions listed below.
Certification of this device
This unit conforms to frequency restrictions and has received certification based on frequency laws, so
a wireless permit is not necessary.
However, the following action is punishable by law in some countries:
• Taking apart/modifying the unit.
Range of use
Use this device within an unobstructed 10 m range. The range of usage or perimeter may be shortened
depending on any obstructions, devices causing interference, other people in the room, or the
construction of the building. Please note that the range mentioned above is not guaranteed.

Listening to other portable audio devices
You can connect an MP3 player or other portable audio device through this unit via AUX-in Jack.

Plug in the 3.5 mm jack plug into the headphone or line-out jack on your audio device, and then
plug in the 3.5 mm jack into this unit.
The unit will into AUX mode.

Turn on and play your audio device.

Adjust the volume level on your audio device.
To preserve power, remember to turn off the unit when not in use.

Notes
This unit do not have magnetic shielding. Do not put it near devices easily influenced by

This unit may receive radio interference caused by mobile telephones during use. If such

When you play at high levels for a long period, it can cause damage to the unit and decrease the
life of the unit. Decrease the volume when you play distorted sound to prevent damage.
