    SAFETY RULES Woodworking can be dangerous if safe and proper operating procedures are not followed. As with all machinery, certain hazards are involved with the operation of the product. Using the machine with respect and caution will considerably lessen the possibility of personal injury.   • Page 5 ATTACHING SPINDLE ADAPTER 1. Carefully turn the machine upside down. Place it on a clean, firm supporting surface. 2. Use a flat head screwdriver or similar device to remove the plug (A) Fig. 5, from the bottom of the machine to gain access to socket head screw (not shown).

    ASSEMBLING SANDING DRUM, ABRASIVE SLEEVE AND TABLE INSERT 1. Place 1-3/4" drum washer (A) Fig. 10, on the spindle adapter (B). 2. Slide the abrasive sleeve (C) Fig. 10 over the sanding drum (D), and attach the sanding drum (D) Fig. 11, with the sleeve to the spindle adapter.

    FASTENING SANDER TO A SUPPORTING SURFACE If the spindle sander has a tendency to tip over, slide, or walk, secure the sander to the supporting surface using the four holes in the base of the machine. The optional accessory stand has four plastic feet with holes that allow easy mounting of the stand.

    4. Slide the used abrasive sleeve off the sanding drum. Slide the new abrasive sleeve on(C) Fig. 21. 5. Attach the abrasive sleeve and sanding drum combina- tion (C) Fig. 20, firmly on the spindle adapter. Fasten with the arbor screw (removed in STEP 2). Replace the table insert with the arrows up.

    MAINTENANCE After approximately 100 hours of use, the grease in the gear housing should be checked and changed. To gain access to the gear housing: 1. DISCONNECT THE TOOL FROM THE POWER SOURCE. 2. Turn the machine over and loosen the two screws (A) Fig.
