Problem
no espresso coffee is delivered
The espresso coffee drips from the
edges of the filter holder rather
than the holes
The espresso coffee is cold
The pump is excessively noisy
The coffee crema is too light (deli-
vered from the spout too fast)
Possible causes
no water in the tank
The holes in the filter holder are
blocked
The espresso boiler outlet is blocked
Limescale in the water circuit
The filter holder is inserted incorrectly
The espresso boiler gasket has lost
elasticity
The holes in the filter holder spouts
are blocked
Too much coffee in the filter
The coffee ok light was not on when
the coffee button was pressed
no preheating was done
The cups were not preheated
Limescale in the water circuit
The water tank is empty
The tank is incorrectly inserted and the
valve on the bottom is not open
There are air bubbles in the tank
connector
The pre-ground coffee is not pressed
down firmly enough
There is not enough pre-ground coffee
The pre-ground coffee is too coarse
The wrong type of pre-ground coffee
is being used
The wrong filter is being used when
using eSe pods

troubleshooting

Solution
fill the tank with water
clean the filter holder spout holes
clean as described in the chapter "cleaning the
boiler outlet"
Descale as described in the section "Descaling"
Attach the filter holder correctly and rotate firmly
as far as it will go
have the espresso boiler gasket replaced by
customer Services
clean the filter holder spout holes
Avoid over-exceeding the recommended dosage
of coffee in the filter.
Wait until the ok light comes on
Preheat the cups and filter holder with
Preheat the cups with hot water
Descale as described in the section "Descaling"
fill the tank
Press the tank down lightly to open the valve on
the bottom
follow the instructions given in the "hot water"
section until water is delivered
Press the pre-ground coffee down more firmly
(fig. 10)
Increase the quantity of pre-ground coffee
