this Player by remote control along with another
SHARP Blu-ray Disc Player or DVD Player placed
next to it simultaneously, switching the remote
control code (both the Player and remote control)
to one of the signals (RC-1, RC-2 or RC-3) will let

Do you have a question about the BD-HP21U and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
player won't play disc nor will the tray open
The Sharp BD-HP21U player may not play discs or open the tray due to one or more of the following reasons:
1. The disc is incompatible, non-standard, scratched, or loaded upside down. This can trigger error messages like "CANNOT PLAY" or "INCOMPATIBLE DISC," and the tray may pop out automatically.
2. There may be a need to reset the player. Holding the power button until the screen says "reset," then releasing it and restarting the player after one minute, may help resolve some issues.
3. If the disc is read but nothing happens (e.g., blank screen), the issue may be related to the firmware or disc compatibility.
Try checking the disc, resetting the player, and ensuring firmware is up to date.
