6. Operate on Slopes and Rough Terrain
! WARNING
! WARNING
Be extremely cautious when driving the tractor
on a slope and rough terrain.
●To increase traction power and provide 4-wheel
braking, engage the 4-wheel drive before
driving the tractor on a slope and rough terrain.
Remember that, although 4-wheel drive greatly
assists in approach to a steep slope, there is
greater possibility of the tractor tipping over.
●To improve braking power on sloped, frozen,
wet or graveled surfaces, engage the 4-wheel
drive. Add weight to the tractor as necessary
and travel at a lower speed to prevent skidding
and loss of steering control.
●While driving the tractor, do not attempt to
climb a slope that is steeper than 11 degrees.
●Even on a slope that is less than 11 degrees, do
not turn or change the traveling direction, or
park perpendicular to the slope.
●Before approaching a slope, select an
appropriate speed setting (be sure to travel at a
lower speed when on a slope). NEVER shift
gears while on a slope as this can cause the
tractor to become uncontrollable and suddenly
roll downhill.
●Suddenly starting the tractor on an uphill slope
can cause the front wheels to lift off the ground
and result an extremely dangerous situation.
To avoid this problem, run the engine at a lower
speed and slowly start the tractor in motion.
● NEVER park the tractor on a slope. If parking on
a slope is unavoidable, chock the tires and set
the parking brake securely.
●On a slope, the tractor is unstable and more
prone to tipping over, possibly leading to
severe injury or even death. Remain very
cautious when your tractor is on any slope.
●To prevent the tractor from tipping over, travel
backward on steep slopes. If traveling
backward on the slope is difficult, do not
attempt to continue. Avoid extremely steep
slopes.
●When exiting a ditch or deep mud, or when
traveling on a steep slope, the risk of the
tractor tipping over is high. Special caution is
especially required in 4-wheel drive mode.
●Slowly move on any slope. NEVER change
speed or direction quickly.
●When backing up a slope, keep the tractor
parallel with the gradient of the slope.
