2. Metric/English Measurement Units
This feature allows you to display speed, distance, and weight in
either English or metric units of measurement. You can toggle between
the "E" for English or "nn" for metric by using the - and + keys.
3. Programs On/Off Mode
The programs on/off mode can be used to prevent or "lock out" the
use of the 400T's programs. When "P on" is selected, the programs
are enabled and there is no time limit set. The right display window
will not be illuminated. When "Poff" is selected the programs are
turned off and they are not available for use. The 400T can only be
run manually. To toggle between "P on" for programs on and "Poff"
for programs off, use the L and M keys.
4. Time Limits (in Manual mode, only)
Time limits can be set on the use of the treadmill in the manual
mode if the programs on/off mode is set to "Poff." The right display
window will indicate the time limit setting, in 5 minute increments,
from 5 to 995. The number of minutes for the time limit setting can
be changed by using the + and - keys.
Note: Time limits can only be set when programs are deactivated,
"Poff" in the Programs On/Off Mode. Time limits can not be set
when programs are activated, "P on" in the Programs On/Off Mode.
5. Pause On/Off Mode
The pause on/off mode can be used to turn the pause function on
or off. When "on" is selected, the pause function is enabled for a
pause time of 5 minutes. When "oFF" is selected, the pause
function is turned off and not available for use. To toggle between
"on" and "oFF" use the L and M keys.

Programmed Workouts

As mentioned earlier, the 400T contains a manual mode of
operation, four programs that automatically change the speed
and/or incline at preset intervals, and a memory location (P6) that
allows you to store your own custom workout program. All of these
programs are listed to the left of the control panel and are fully
explained in Chapter 4, Programmed Workouts. Chapter 4 also
outlines how to select each of these programs, how to modify
them, and how to save program modifications. The program
choices are summarized as follows:
