Chapter 4 Other Settings

4.1 Configuring the QoS

Quality of Service (QoS) is a measure of network performance that
reflects the network's transmission quality and service availability.
& Note:
QoS does not create additional bandwidth for your wireless LAN; it
helps control the allocation of the bandwidth. If the bandwidth for your
wireless LAN is sufficient, you might not need to configure QoS.
QoS is deactivated by default. To configure the QoS, follow the
steps:
(1)
Log in to the Web configuration page of the HG520s. For the
procedure, refer to 2.3
Environment."
(2)
Select Advanced > QoS in the navigation tree to display the
QoS configuration page.
(3)
Set QoS to Activate.
(4)
Select Rule Index that needs to be configured and activate
the rule. You can configure up to 16 rules.
(5)
Configure the relevant parameters.
(6)
Click Submit to add a rule. You can check the parameters of
this rule in the QoS Setting List.
