CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
The CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardandMTDConsumerGroupInc are pleasedto explainthe evaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyon your2008 lawn
mower.In California,new lawnmowersmust be designed,built and equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupInc must
warrantthe EECSon yourlawn mowerfor the periodof time listed below providedthere has beenno abuse, neglector impropermaintenanceof yourlawn mower.
Your EECSmay includeparts such asthe carburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fuel tanks,fuel lines,fuel caps, valves,
canisters,filters,vapor hoses,clamps,connectors,andother associatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawn mower at no cost to you includingdiagnosis, parts and labor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
This evaporativeemissioncontrol systemis warrantedfor two years.If any evaporativeemission-relatedpart on your equipmentis defective,the part will be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe lawn mowerowner,you are responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenance listed in yourowner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroupIncrecommends
thatyou retainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceon yourlawn mower,but MTDConsumerGroupInccannot denywarrantysolelyfor the lackof receipts.
Asthe lawn mowerowner,you shouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc maydeny you warrantycoverageif yourlawn moweror a part has failed
dueto abuse,neglect, or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyourlawn mowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc's distributioncenteror servicecenteras soonas the problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbe completedin a reasonableamountof time, not to exceed30 days. If you havea questionregardingyourwarrantycoverage,you should
contactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncService Departmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the lawnmoweris: Designed,built andequippedso as to
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfree from defects in materialsandworkmanshipthatcausethe failureof a warrantedpart to be identicalinall material
respectsto that part as describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc's applicationfor certification.
The warrantyperiodbeginson the date the lawnmoweris deliveredto an ultimatepurchaseror first placedinto service.The warrantyperiodis two years.
Subjectto certain conditionsand exclusionsasstated below,the warrantyon emission-related parts is asfollows:
1. Any warrantedpart that is not scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein the written instructionssupplied,is warrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove. Ifthe part fails duringthe periodof warrantycoverage,the part will be repairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupInc accordingto subsection
(4) below. Anysuch part repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Any warrantedpart that is scheduledonly for regularinspectionin the writteninstructionssupplied is warrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Any such
part repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Any warrantedpart that is scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein the written instructionssuppliedis warrantedfor the periodof time beforethe
first scheduledreplacementdatefor that part. If the partfails beforethe first scheduledreplacement,the part will be repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupInc accordingto subsection(4) below.Any such part repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedfor the remainderof the periodprior to the
first scheduledreplacementpointforthe part.
4. Repairor replacementof any warrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbe performedat a warrantystationat no chargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstanding the provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill be providedat all of our distributioncentersthatare franchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. The lawnmowerowner will not be chargedfor diagnosticlaborthat is directly associatedwith diagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthat such diagnosticwork is performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc is liablefor damagesto otherengine or equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failure underwarrantyof any warranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarrantyperiodstatedabove, MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supply of warrantedparts sufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor such parts.
9. Any replacementpart may be usedinthe performanceof any warrantymaintenance or repairsand mustbe providedwithoutchargeto the owner.Suchuse will
not reducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10. Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are not exemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmay not be used.The use of any non-exempted add-on or modifiedparts by the
ultimatepurchaserwill be groundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims. MTDConsumerGroup Incwill not be liable to warrantfailuresof warrantedpartscaused
bythe use of a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
