CHARGING
A HOT BATTERY
When using the screwdriver continuously, the batteries in
the tool will become hot. You should let a hot battery cool
down for approximately
30 minutes before attempting to
recharge.
NOTE: This situation only occurs when continuous use
of the screwdriver causes the batteries to become hot.
It does not occur under normal circumstances.
Refer to
CHARGING THE SCREWDRIVER
for normal recharging
of batteries. If the charger does not charge the batteries
under normal circumstances,
return the charger to the
nearest Sears Repair Center for electrical check.
COLLET
See Figure 2.
The collet on the screwdriver has been designed to
accept 1/4 in. hex bits.
INSTALLING/REMOVING
BITS
See Figure 3.
Insert bit into collet as far as possible to install. To remove,
pull bit out of collet.
ADJUSTING
TORQUE
See Figure 3.
There are twelve torque indicator settings located on the
front of the screwdriver. To select a torque setting, rotate
the torque adjustment ring to the desired number and
align it with the arrow on top of the motor housing.

CLUTCH
This product is equipped with an adjustable torque clutch
for driving different types of screws into different mate-
rials. The proper setting depends on the type of material
and the size of screw you are using.

DRIVING/REMOVING
SCREWS
See Figure 4.
The screwdriver has a forward/reverse
feature that allows
you to change the direction of bit rotation. For driving
screws, depress switch up; for removing screws, depress
bottom of switch.
