Data Fails
If you see a status of "Failure" or "Warning" on a Status page or
Disk Setup page in HD Server Admin, then go to page 11-5. The
problems and solutions are described in the section "Check Status
in HD Server Admin".
1. In HD Server Admin (use a workstation on the network and see
page 4-3 to 4-4), go to the Status
disks show an error condition, then skip to step 3.
2. In HD Server Admin, go to the Status
check for volume error messages.
3. At the server, check the Drive power and Drive activity lights.
Compare them to the tables on page 11-2 and page 11-4.
4. Check the control panel display for alerts. Follow the instructions
in "Alerts on Control Panel" on page 11-7.
5. If the above show no problems, restart the server. See "Restart"
on page 11-18.
6. If the read or write fails again, then in HD Server Admin go to the
Configuration
[Check Volume] button. Refer to "Check File System" on page 11-6.
7. Shut down the server (page 11-17) and make sure all drives are
properly seated. Restart the server (page 11-18).
8. If the read or write fails again, then a drive may have failed. Call
HP support per appendix A "Getting Support" for a replacement
part. To replace it, see "Replace Disk Drive Module" on
page 11-23.
