Optional Module Installation
2.8.3 4XTM Transmitter Module Installation
The 4XTM provides a supervised output for a local energy municipal box transmitter in addition to alarm and trouble reverse polarity. A
jumper option allows the reverse polarity circuit to open with a system trouble condition if no alarm condition exists. A disable switch allows
disabling of the transmitter output during testing to prevent accidental calling of the monitoring service.
Local Energy Municipal Box Service (NFPA 72 Auxiliary Fire Alarm Systems):
Supervisory Current: 5.0 mA
Trip Current: 350 mA (subtracted from notification appliance power)
Coil Voltage: 3.65 VDC
Maximum Coil Resistance: 14.6 ohms
Maximum allowable wire resistance between panel and trip coil: 3 ohms
Municipal Box wiring can leave the building
Remote Station Service (NFPA 72 Remote Station Fire Alarm Systems) - Intended for connection to a polarity reversal circuit or a
Remote Station receiving unit having compatible ratings:
Maximum load for each circuit: 10 mA
Reverse polarity output voltage: 24 VDC
Remote Alarm and Remote Trouble wiring can leave the building
Before installing the module, place the disconnect switch to the right (disconnect) position to prevent accidental activation of the municipal
box. Note that a Disconnect LED will illuminate after the module is installed in the NFW-100X. In addition, the System Trouble LED will
turn on to indicate the Disconnect condition.
The following steps must be followed when installing the 4XTM module:
1.
Remove all power (Primary and Secondary) from the FACP before installing 4XTM
2.
Carefully plug the connectors on the 4XTM module into connectors J12 and J13 on the NFW-100X main circuit board, being careful
not to bend any pins.
3.
Secure 4XTM module to standoffs with supplied screws.
4.
Slide SW2 on the NFW-100X main circuit board to the down position.
5.
Enable 4XTM supervision in user programming. Refer to "4XTM Supervision" on page 83.
6.
Reapply power to the FACP.
NFW-100X Manual — P/N LS10131-001NF-E:F 6/7/2022
Note: The 4XTM Module is not directly suitable for transmitting a reverse polarity
supervisory signal. For applications using reverse polarity of a supervisory signal, refer to
Keltron Wiring document #52776.
