  • Page 7 Installation Remove the tank from the shipping carton. Verify the riser tube is centered in the bottom of the tank. There is an indentation in the bottom of the tank that will allow the distributor tube to be centered. A flashlight may be needed to verify the tube is in the center of the tank.
  • Page 8 Use the Blue Funnel provided to pour the media into the tank. The order the media is poured in is important. Begin by pouring the media labeled as Quartz Gravel into the bottom of the tank. Pour it evenly around the hole to ensure it is well distributed in the tank and pour slow enough to keep from plugging the hole.
  • Page 9 Lubricate the inner and outer O-ring of the in/out head. Install the upper basket on the bottom of the head by lining up the tabs then turning the basket clockwise to lock it in place. Place the upper basket over the distributor tube and push the head on the tank. Thread the head on the tank by turning it clockwise.
  • Page 10 Lubricate the O-rings on the supplied bypass with silicone grease. Then proceed to apply a small amount of grease to the inside of the in/out head. Install the bypass on the tank and begin to tighten the retaining nuts. Once they have been partially tightened, push the bypass into the in/out head to fully seat the o-rings.

Then proceed to tighten it further with an adjustable wrench. 13. Thread tape the outlet fitting of the system (Marked Downflow Inlet) and attach the open port of the reducing coupling.
  • Page 12 15. Once the system is flushed and the outlet is in Bypass, let the system sit for 5 minutes to pressurize. Then proceed to check for leaks on the system and the inlet plumbing. 16. Once the system has been checked for leaks, remove the flushing fittings and con- nect the Outlet (marked Downflow Inlet) of the tank to the cold water supply feeding the rest of the home.
  • Page 13 Replenishing the Calcite Media Turn off the main water supply valve and open the nearest faucet to relieve any pressure on the system. Remove the aerator from the faucet to allow for media flushing. Slowly open the dome hole on the top of the tank. Some water will come out so be prepared with a bucket and some towels for fast clean up.
  • Page 14 Lubricate the O-ring on the dome hole plug and install the dome plug in the dome hole. Tighten it hand tight then snug it an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn. CAUTION: DO NOT overtighten the plug. This can cause damage to the dome hole and the tank.
