Introduction Your Hayward Pro Series™ high-rate sand filter is a high performance, totally corrosion-proof filter that blends superior flow characteristics and features with ease of operation. It represents the very latest in high-rate sand filter technology. It is virtually foolproof in design and operation and when installed, operated and maintained according to instructions, your filter will produce clear, sparkling water with only minimal attention and care. - Page 7 Specifications table on page 11. Depress Vari-Flo control valve handle and rotate so as to set pointer on valve top between any two positions. This will allow water to drain from the valve. Leave valve in this "inactive" position. Drain and winterize pump according to pump instructions. My Model: S270T2AU filter has developed a "pin hole" leak at one of the two vertical seams approximately 10mm below the plastic flange clamp. My attempts to patch the leak with two-pack epoxy and superglue have been unsuccessful, as they have not bonded to the shell. Please advise what adhesive will bond to the shell and seal the pinhole? Is it feasible to seal the pinhole by lightly melting the plastic shell with a hot soldering iron? Your advice will be greatly appreciated in order to rectify this apparent manufacturing defect, and avoid the need for very expensive filter replacement.
