Huawei HG659 4-port self-installation guide
Vodacom as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) has partnered with multiple partner network
service providers countrywide to provide you with fibre and fixed voice services. Your
services are provided by one of our partners and your installation process will be as
indicated below.
Please note: Your Vodacom router will be sent to you via RAM couriers.
Step-by-step fibre network installation guide
1. Our network partner will perform the physical installation of the fibre to your home
(this may include trenching into your home).
2. Our partner will install a fibre box in your home which will enable you to connect
your Vodacom router in order to activate your services. The fibre box that will be
installed will vary by network partner (colour, labelling and design)
3. After the installation by the network partner, please ensure that you switch on the
fibre box. See example below:

The Vodacom router will already have your settings configured. The following steps needs
to be followed before your internet service can be activated.
Step 1
Unpack the Vodacom router, and check if all the cables and power supply are inside the box.

  • Page 3 4. Switch on your router by pressing the Power button 5. After switching on the router, please wait for at least 10 minutes for the router to complete the automated service configuration. Once the automated configuration completes, the router may restart. Please do not unplug the devices during this time.
