Operations indicated by the (T}) mark are performed
with the remote control unit.
@ Before turning on the power, please review the
"CONNECTIONS" section and confirm that the
speakers, antenna, and other camponents have
been connected properly.
@ When the power plug is connected into an AC wall
outlet, the unit enters the demonstration mode.
Press the STANDBY/ON switch to cancel the dem-
onstration mode.
1. Press the STANDBY/ON switch (or POWER
button on the remote control unit).
The volume level is displayed.

@ Toturn the power off:
Press the CD receiver's STANDBY/ON switch or Dis-
play unit's STANDBY/ON switch again.
STANOBY/ON STANDS "DN
The display will change to the current time, and the
dimmer function will operate, causing the display to
be dimmed (if the clock time has not been set, the dis-
play will flash).
Auto Play MD Loading
If a playback-only MD is inserted into the slot when
power is turned off, power will be turned on and play-
back will begin automatically.
Power-Off CD/Tape Eject
If the CD tray open/close button or cassette tray open/
close button is pressed when the power is turned off,
the power will turn on and the CD tray will open (in
the case of the CD receiver) or the cassette tray will
open (in the case of the cassette deck).

Power can also be turned on by pressing one of the
following buttons.
Tuner: Power turns on, radio
turns on and play be-
gins.
lf a CD is loaded,
power turns on and
play begins.
If a cassette tape is
loaded, power turns
on and playback be-
gins.
If an MD is loaded,
power turns on and
play begins.
AUX: If the component
connected to the ex-
ternal input connec-
tors (AUX) is operat-
ing, the sound from
that component will
be heard.
@ When an MD recorder is con-
nected, changes alternately be-
tween AUX (digital) and AUX.
Function AutoPlay
When the CD, Tape, or MD function is selected on the
display unit, playback will begin automatically {assum-
ing that the appropriate playback disc or tape has been
loaded in the respective component;
- also, playback will not begin if the tape
deck or MD recorder is set to the record-
ing pause mode).
