HP 6602 routers meet the requirement of FIPS security level 2.
Installation tools (user supplied)
ESD-preventive
Needle-nose pliers
wrist strap
FIPS enclosure assembly (supplied with the router)
Opacity shield Hex bolt 1
Installation preparation
Wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap, and make sure that the wrist strap has

a good skin contact and is well grounded.
The installation procedures must be performed by qualified personnel.
Before installation, you should read the Compliance and Safety Manual for
router compatibility information.
Installing a FIPS enclosure
Only use the screws and hex bolts that are supplied in the opacity shield kit to

secure the opacity shield.

screwdriver cleaning pad
M3 countersunk-
Hex bolt 2 head screw
Install hex bolts on the chassis as shown in the figures. (Remove the
fastening screws, if any, from where hex bolts are to be installed.)
Align the holes on the opacity shields with the hex bolts.
Press the opacity shields against the side panels, and use M3 countersunk-
head screws to secure the opacity shields.

Applying tamper evidence labels
Make sure the ambient air is above 10°C (50°F).

Clean the chassis before applying tamper evident labels. Alcohol-based
cleaning pads are recommended.
Apply tamper evidence labels to all removable components on the device.
One tamper evidence label is provided with the FIPS enclosure assembly.
Apply tamper evidence labels as shown in the figures.
