Playing DVD video discs Operating from the information displays 1 1 1 Information display 1 lets you use the search function to specify a title or chapter to search for a desired scene, use the time search func- tion to specify a time to search for a desired scene, select the desired audio and subtitle language, and select the angle.

Section Setting up the DVD player Introduction of DVD setup adjustments You can use this menu to change audio, subti- tle, parental lock and other DVD settings. This menu can be operated only by using the re- mote control. 1 SET-UP MENU Shows the setup menu status.

Setting up the DVD player Notes ! When playing discs that do not specify PANSCAN, playback is with LETTER BOX even if you select PANSCAN setting. Confirm whether the disc package bears the mark. (See page 8.) ! Some discs do not enable changing of the TV aspect.
Set digital output correctly to match the com- ponents you are using with this unit. There is no need to change settings if this unit is not connected for digital output. ! When using this unit with a Pioneer multi- channel processor (DEQ-P8000), select STREAM. Important...

! With discs that do not feature a CSS (Content Scrambling System) copy guard signal, a 96 kHz digital signal is output. ! When using this unit with a Pioneer multi- channel processor (DEQ-P8000), select 48KHz. If you select 96KHz, no sound will be output when playing discs featuring 96 kHz re- cordings.

Appendix Additional Information DVD player and care ! Use only normal, round discs. If you insert irregular, non-round, shaped discs they may jam in the DVD player or not play prop- erly. ! Check all discs for cracks, scratches or warping before playing.
Additional Information ! It may not be possible to play back CD-R/ CD-RW discs recorded on a music CD re- corder or a personal computer because of disc characteristics, scratches or dirt on the disc, or dirt, condensation, etc., on the lens of this unit.
Appendix Additional Information ! When playing discs with MP3/WMA files and audio data (CD-DA) such as CD-EXTRA and MIXED-MODE CDs, both types can be played only by switching mode between MP3/WMA and CD-DA. !
