Installation of the equipment in the cabinet

Always begin component installation at the bottom of the cabinet and work upward.
Install components at the lowest available space for that component type.
Placement of the equipment in the cabinet is dependent on the type of power
distribution units installed in the cabinet. Refer to
Stack Up
on page 15, which describes equipment stack up for each type of power
distribution.

The D51B-1U server kit includes two slides (left and right). Each cabinet slide consists
of the part that is installed in the cabinet (slide rail) and the part that is mounted on
the side of the server (inner rail).
Procedure
1. Separate the inner rails from the slide rails.
2. Install the slide rails in the cabinet with the hardware provided.
3. Position one of the inner rails on the mounting studs on corresponding side of
the replacement chassis.
4. Slide the inner rail forward until it clicks, which locks it in place on the server.
5. Repeat the previous two steps to install the inner rail to the other side of the
server.
CAUTION
The server is heavy and should be installed in a rack by two people. To
avoid personal injury and/or damage to the equipment, do not attempt to
lift and install the enclosure
into a rack without a mechanical lift and/or help from another person.
6. On each slide rail, bring the ball bearing retainer assembly fully to the front of
the cabinet.
