Intermittent sound issues with the Onkyo HT-R520 that turns on but has no sound for several minutes could be caused by:
1. Speaker Cables Not Connected Properly – Check and secure all speaker cable connections. 2. Incorrect Speaker Configuration – Verify and adjust the speaker configuration settings. 3. Subwoofer Standby Mode – If the input signal is too low, the subwoofer may enter Standby mode. Increase the subwoofer pre-out output level. 4. Microcomputer Lockup – External interference or static electricity can cause the unit to lock up. Unplug the power cord for at least five seconds and then plug it back in. 5. Power Supply Issues – Ensure that the power plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet and consider using a different branch circuit if needed.
Checking and addressing these issues should help resolve the problem.
