Replace the Beacon G6 with the new device. The device can be placed on any flat surface,
such as a desk or shelf.

Connect the LAN cables directly to the RJ-45 ports; see
(p.
57)for the location of the RJ-45 ports.

Connect the WAN cable directly to the LAN RJ-45 port; see
connections" (p.

Connect the power cable to the power connector.
Note: Units must be powered by a Listed or CE approved and marked limited power
source power supply with a minimum output rate of 12 V dc, 2 A. The polarity of the power
adapter plug must match the Beacon G6.

Power up the unit by using the On/Off power button. The POWER LED indicator should be solid
green in color.

Verify the LEDs and voltage status.The

46)indicates the behavior of the LEDs.

Activate and test the services.

If the Beacon G6 is in a failure state or is not providing the services that are expected, perform
a factory reset.
Note: Resetting the device will return all settings to factory default values; any customized
configuration will be lost.
a. Locate the Reset button on a Beacon G6 as shown in
(p.
57).
b. Insert the end of a straightened paper clip or other narrow object into the hole and keep the
reset button pushed for 10s until the Power LED blinks red.
c. Your device will reboot with the factory default settings.
