4.2.4
Belt labeler
A belt labeler labels the packages from the bottom. The printed label is detached from the
backing paper and conveyed to the vacuum nozzles of the gripper control with the assis-
tance of supporting air. The respective vacuum nozzles of the gripper are then activated
holding the label in place. The grippers then convey the label between the labeling belts,
where it is picked up by the bottom of the package to be labeled and affixed. After labeling,
the gripper returns to its starting position.

Device with integrated metal detector
If there is a metal detector in the conveying direction of the device, metal-containing pack-
ages can be detected and ejected with an ejector (air jet, pusher or similar).

Bottom labeling
If a bottom labelers is installed, the packages can also be labeled from below. The settings
for bottom labeling are made via the system display and operating unit.
Do not use the bottom labeling:
–
In the event of moist, dripping or dirty goods, due to soiling of the jet application head.
–
For packages with a round or oval surface, e.g. sausages, as the packages might slip
when being taken.
Labeling from bottom with air jet or stamp labeler
With this design, the printed label is applied to the bottom of the package using an air jet or
stamp labeling system. For this purpose, the conveyor belt is divided into three belts above
the labeling system with the central guide belt being interrupted for label outlet. The two
external conveyor belts can be adjusted by means of a spindle according to the different
label and package sizes. The label outlet can be adjusted to max. 100 mm x 100 mm, see
page 52.
Labeling from bottom with belt labeler
With this design, the printed label is gathered by a gripper and passed between the con-
veyor belts to the bottom of the package to be labeled. ??? By this, all label sizes ap-
proved for the device can be applied to the bottom of any package, see page 55.

GT-12C display and operating unit
The display and operating unit are operated via a SVGA touch screen that displays the
keys depending on the function. Only those keys are displayed which work with the called
up function or which are necessary.
The software of the display and operating unit GT-12C enables the configuration of the
display and operating unit as well as the settings for a connection to other devices, see
GT-SoftControl operating instructions.
