5.6 Routine and Preventive Maintenance
The SRD is made of high-quality components and materials to minimize maintenance
requirements. All surfaces are resistant to weak acids, alkali, and organic solvents.
Nevertheless, immediately wipe up all liquids spilled onto the SRD surface, by using lint-
free cloth or paper. If surfaces are exposed for longer periods, these liquids can cause
damage.
Perform the maintenance procedures listed in the table at regular intervals to ensure optimum
performance and maximum uptime of the SRD. The exact maintenance schedule for the SRD
will depend on a number of factors.

Tip:
If the SRD is operated with the pump of an UltiMate 3000 system and if the
pump is operated by Chromeleon, you can check the performance of the SRD
degasser ( page 33).
Operating Instructions
What you should do...
To avoid contamination of the degasser:
Prepare fresh solvents.
Clean the solvent lines.
Rinse the degassing channels ( section 7.2).
Check the fluid lines for any signs of leakage and/or salt deposits.
Check the drain tube connected to the drain port at the bottom right
of the SRD. Verify that the tubing is unclogged and is routed below
the drain port. Check the volume of the liquid in the waste
container and empty as needed.
Have a Dionex service representative check the detector once a year
to prevent contamination and excessive wear.
