Removing and Installing Ink Cartridges

Make sure you have your replacement cartridges handy before you begin. You must install new
cartridges immediately after removing the old ones.
Caution: Leave your old cartridges in the product until you are ready to replace them to prevent the print
head nozzles from drying out. Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink.
Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.
Note: If you remove a low or expended ink cartridge, you cannot re-install and use the cartridge. If you
replace cartridges when trying to copy, the originals may move during cartridge replacement. Cancel the
copy job and replace the originals.
1. Turn on your product.
• If an ink cartridge is expended, you see a message on the LCD screen. Note which cartridges
need to be replaced and select Replace now.
• If you are replacing a cartridge before you see a message on the LCD screen, press the
button if necessary, select Maintenance > Ink Cartridge(s) Replacement, and follow the
instructions on the LCD screen.

To fix the "Ink Cartridge is Not Recognized" error on the Epson WF-2930, follow these steps:

1. Use Genuine Epson Cartridges – Ensure you are using only Epson-branded cartridges, as third-party cartridges may not function properly.
2. Reinstall the Cartridge – Remove the cartridge and reinsert it firmly until it clicks into place.
3. Check for Protective Material – Make sure no protective tape or seals are left on the cartridge.
4. Restart the Printer – Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.
5. Update Firmware – If a firmware update was installed, non-Epson cartridges may stop working. Use only genuine Epson cartridges.

If the issue persists, refer to the online User’s Guide for further troubleshooting.

To change the ink cartridges in the Epson WorkForce 2930 printer, follow these steps:

1. Turn off the printer – Press the power button to switch it off.
2. Open the ink chamber – Lift the ink chamber from the designated side.
3. Move the ink cartridges
- If the cartridges are locked, unlock them by either giving a copy command before turning off the printer and unplugging it or by pushing the white lock forward while moving the cartridges to the left.
4. Refill or replace cartridges – Ensure all four cartridges are refilled or replaced to avoid receiving a refill message soon.
5. Use the correct cartridge type – The printer uses 232 ink cartridges.
