    Chapter 1 Getting started ® ® The ARRIS SURFboard SB6183 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem provides a secure ultra high- speed broadband connection to the Internet for your computer and other network-enabled devices on your home or small business network. This Guide provides a product overview and instructions for installing and setting up your SB6183 to get it connected to your home network.

This may be due to some restrictions set up by your service provider to prevent unauthorized modifications to certain cable modem configuration parameters.

This process will delete the current settings and take approximately 5 to 30 minutes to complete.
