INSTALLATION
RAIL INSTALLATION - FOLDING RAIL ,
NOTES: Included with each folding rail
installation kit is one (1) Rail Mount
Shim (CRE-31349). Use this only when
installing 1° SRE Rail Mount Spacers
(SRV-3050-015), which can be
purchased from Bruno. Reference
ILS-01492.

If not done previously, reconnect two-piece rail
installations on staircase.
Place rail on stepnoses.
NOTE: Place heavy toolbox at bottom of stairs
to keep rail from sliding.
"Assemble special folding rail bracket:
e Position bracket. 2" (5imm) from wall and
2-1/2" (64mm) from stepnose on first step.
Rail position is approximately 4" (102mm)
from wall when measured from wall side of top
of rail [Fig. 1].
e Use four (4) screws to secure bracket in place
[Fig. 2].
e Remove block from bracket [Fig. 3].
e Loosely install block into primary bracket of
folding rail assembly using provided hardware.
[Fig. 4].
Place folding rail so block fits within special
folding rail bracket and loosely attach with
provided hardware. [Fig. 5].

If the floor has thick carpet, use Landing Pad,
SRE-30492WG [Fig. 6 & 7], provided within SRE-
K-3076. Install where rail would contact floor.
Stack End Plate (SRE-30055WG) and Wire Relief
Spacer (SRE-30324WG). Place beneath base of
folding rail [Fig. 8]. The two plates would be on
top of Landing Pad if used. "
Position remaining brackets. Maintain a gap
between bottom of rail and stair stepnose that is:
'no carpet: 2" (51 mm) minimum
carpet: 2.5" (64 mm) minimum
Measure every step [Fig. 9].
Confirm rail is correct distance from wall from
top to bottom of staircase, then fasten brackets
to the step treads. |
