1.2 Set windscreen wipers to the service po‐
sition
Caution
Risk of damage to front flap when retracting the windscreen
wipers into the Basic setting.
♦ Do not move the vehicle while the windscreen wiper arms
are open.
♦ When actuating the switch for the windscreen wipers or
when driving above 6 km/h, the windscreen wipers auto‐
matically go back to the home position.
Caution
Risk of damage to wiper blades through icing.
In case of frost, check whether the wiper blades are not frozen.
Note
If it is necessary to switch on the wiper motor in the work instruc‐
tion, the front flap must be closed completely, otherwise the
voltage supply of the wiper motor is interrupted.
– Switch on ignition and then switch off again briefly.
– Press "flick wipe" within 10 secs.
• The windscreen wipers move into the service position.

Removing and installing wiper blade

– Bring windscreen wipers into the service position

page 40 .
Caution
Risk of damage to wiper blade.
The joint-free wipers are very flexible. When opening up the
windscreen wiper blades from the windscreen, only touch them
at the mounting point of the windscreen wiper blades.
– Raise the windscreen wiper arm from the windscreen.
