Drive forward and straighten out the load using the
steering wheel so it is square over the stack. See
Figure 4-22.

8. Turn the steering wheel to keep the load straight as
you drive it into the opening. See Figure 4-23.

9. Position the load directly over the rack beams and tilt
the mast into its vertical position.
When you lower the forks to the "no load"
position, make sure you do not lower the forks
too far. See Figure 4-24. If the forks are lowered
too far beyond the "no load" position, you can
damage the mast, rack, or other containers on the
stack. This can cause serious injury or death.
10. Lower the forks until the load sits firmly on the rack.
Continue to lower the forks until they no longer
support the load ('no load' position). See Figure 4-24.
Do not attempt to withdraw the forks until they
have been lowered to a "no load" position.
Failure to follow this guideline can cause the load
to fall off the stack causing serious injury or
death.
NOTE
Do not tilt the mast back until the forks clear the pallet.
