TROUBLESHOOTING

Below is a list of some of the possible malfunctions.
If the problem cannot be resolved as described, contact Customer Services.
PROBLEM
No espresso cofee is delivered
The espresso cofee drips from
the edges of the ilter holder
rather than the holes
The espresso cofee is cold
The pump is excessively noisy
The cofee froth is too dark
(delivered from the spout too
slowly)
The cofee has an acid taste
POSSIBLE CAUSE
No water in the tank
The holes in the ilter holder are blocked
The espresso boiler outlet is blocked
Scale in the water circuit
The ilter holder has been inserted incor-
rectly or is dirty
The espresso boiler gasket has lost elasti-
city or is dirty
The holes in the ilter holder spouts are
blocked
The OK light is not on when the cofee is
delivered
No preheating was done
The cups were not preheated
Scale in the water circuit
The water tank is empty
The tank is not correctly in place and the
valve on the bottom is not open
There are air bubbles in the tank
connector
The pre-ground cofee is pressed down
too irmly
There is not enough pre-ground cofee
The espresso boiler outlet is blocked
The ilter is blocked
The pre-ground cofee is too ine or damp Use only pre-ground cofee for espresso cofee ma-
The wrong type of pre-ground cofee is
being used
Inadequate rinsing after descaling
SOLUTION
Fill the tank with water
Clean the ilter holder spout holes
Clean as described in the chapter "Cleaning"
Descale as described in the "Descaling" section
Attach the ilter holder correctly and rotate irmly
as far as it will go
Have the espresso boiler gasket replaced by Custo-
mer Services
Clean the ilter holder spout holes
Wait until the OK light comes on
Pre-heat as indicated in the "Tips for a hotter cof-
fee" section
Pre-heat the cups with hot water
Descale as described in the section "Descaling"
Fill the tank
Press the tank down lightly to open the valve on
the bottom
Follow the instructions given in the "Hot water"
section until water is delivered
Press the cofee down less irmly
Reduce the quantity of pre-ground cofee
Clean as described in the section "Cleaning the
boiler outlet"
Clean as described in the section "Cleaning the
cofee ilters"
kers and make sure it is not damp
Use a diferent type of pre-ground cofee
After descaling, rinse the appliance as described in
the section "Descaling"
