press OK. Select the data you wish to display and press OK, or press the Page
button to back out of it. Press Page again to get back to the regular navigation
screen.
• If you are navigating to a waypoint and wish to stop, press OK and select Stop
Navigation.

The Menu Screen

• To mark, or find waypoints see above.
• When starting a project it might be a good idea to delete all existing waypoints,
especially when you know you will be collecting a lot of data. Select Waypoints
and press OK. Select Delete All and press OK. Select Yes and press OK.
• The trail that follows you on the Map Screen is called a track log and it may be
beneficial to keep it as a record of where you have been in case you need to
retrace your steps. Select Tracks and press OK. Select Save and press OK. Select
the starting point and press OK. Select the end point and press OK. Select the
name of the track and press OK and change the name to something more
meaningful. When done, press OK.

Transferring Data

• We do have Garmin software (Garmin MapSource) and a cable to connect the
Geko 201 to a computer. The cable is located in MAD.
• Open MapSource. In the Transfer Menu select Receive From Device.... When
properly connected, the device should show up. Check off what you wish to
receive from the device and click Receive.
• Data can be exported from the file menu as a .mps, .txt, or .dxf file, or it can be
saved in .gdb format.
