  • Page 28: Disk Protection Faq

DISK PROTECTION FAQ DCS Ka 50 Black Shark is protected using the DiscFree technology. The technology allows a user to activate the game via the Internet and not to use licensed media to run the game. Besides, the protection scheme with activation via the Internet does not use the protection driver.
  • Page 29 DISK PROTECTION FAQ How to generate a file with the error codes: Run the game; wait until the error message appears. Do not interrupt the disc check process! There is an 'Error report' button in the error message box (the 'Information' button in old protection version). •...
  • Page 30 DISK PROTECTION FAQ The system displays a message that emulators are detected during the disc check. Meanwhile, there might be no emulators in the system. This error can occur because of the conflict between the protection driver and an emulator driver (if there is an emulator), and/or between the pro tection driver and a motherboard driver that is responsible for the operation of the disk array of the computer.
  • Page 31 DISK PROTECTION FAQ Please download this small utility readcd.exe: http://help.star force.ru/syssum/readcd.zip Insert the disc with the game into the drive and run the utility. Follow the displayed instructions. After the program termination, the files of the readcd_хх.bin type appear in the program folder. You will find the Disc Key in the readcd_16.bin file.
  • Page 32 DISK PROTECTION FAQ Protection driver update. To update the protection driver, use the protect.exe utility, which is the root folder of the game (the utility can be in another folder, which depends on the structure of the files and folders of the game). It can help avoid certain problems in some cases.
  • Page 33 DISK PROTECTION FAQ • DiscFree In this case you should activate the game via the Internet, using a Serial Number supplied along with the game. After the activation, no disc is required to run the game. • Use disc If you cannot activate the game via the Internet for some reason, you can run the game using the licensed disc.
