5.3 Memory Clear

This section describes the method for clearing all memory area of the L3 CPU module.
Clearing of all memory area is necessary after replacement or installation of the L3 CPU
module, or for initialization after error rundown. Normally, do not carry out this memory
clear operation.
NOTE
If memory clear operation is carried out, user application data is cleared, and therefore must be
reloaded.
Clear the battery-backed-up memory of the L3 CPU module in the following procedure:
(1) Set the mode switch of the L3 CPU module to "HALT", and turn off the power.
(2) Set default setting switches 1 and 2 of the L3 CPU module to ON.
(3) Turn on the power, and wait until the 7-segment LED indication changes from [Cr]
(clearing) to [En] (end).
(4) Set all default setting switches of the L3 CPU module to OFF (normal operation).
(5) Change the mode switch setting of the L3 CPU module from [HALT] to [RUN] and
then [RUN] to [HALT]. The L3 CPU module is then ready for downloading (the 7-
segment LED indicates [dL]).
(6) Download user application program.
