Separation from other equipment
To avoid influence of grounding current of other equipment, separate the L3 controller
from other equipment so that the grounding current does not flow through the controller.
Separate the grounding conductor of the L3 controller from that of a power system that
contains high-frequency equipment.
Line ground and frame ground
Separate the frame ground from the N line (0 V) of I/O system power supply unit.
Connect the frame ground to the ground terminal at one point.
Grounding of main unit and expansion units
The main unit and expansion units must have equal ground potential (One-point
grounding).
Connect shielded multi-core cable with a shielded terminal at
the inlet of the console.
Inside the console, lay multi-core cable without shield if possible, to save space and
minimize cable bending radius.

3.4 Grounding of L3 Controller
In the case where panels
(consoles) are installed in a row,
grounding current from high-
frequency equipment or power
panel may flow through the L3
controller console to the ground.
Isolate the L3 controller console
from the power panel using
insulator, and connect the
console to an exclusive grounding
conductor.
Mount the L3 controller on an
insulation panel, and connect the
controller to an exclusive
grounding conductor. (This
requirement applies to the case
where the L3 controller and high-
frequency devices are mounted in
the same console.)
