    FL654A is a remote I/O station module that connects G2 I/O module to FL-net. By using the FL654A, you can connect the G2 I/O module to the FL-net system without the controller, and update the input / output data of the remote I/O by cyclic transmission between the host controller and the remote I/O station.

    Figure 2-8 Operation Setting Switch This is an 8-bit DIP switch that sets up FL654A operations, and is located in the lower left side face of the module when facing the module. It is set using a small flat-head screwdriver. Because this setting is read at power-ON of the FL654A, if you wish to change the setting, turn OFF the power, change the setting, and then turn ON the power again.

    3.6 Startup Procedure There are the following two modes for I/O module input/output operations: (1) FL654A recognizes the I/O module composition when the power supply is turned on, and FL654A executes the input/output operation by this module composition.     6.1 Setting up the Talker and Listener Areas The FL654A’s talker and listener areas are provided in Area 1 or Area 2 of the FL-net cyclic transmission common memory. Setup of the talker and listener areas is achieved using the talker block head/listener block head setting switches at the lower left side face of the module.

When an input/output cycle is normally executed, one count is incremented. Input/output cycles vary depending on the I/O module configuration, and one count is incremented in 200 ms at worst.

    The FL654A checks whether the I/O modules are normal or abnormal each time input/output cycle is complete. If any I/O module is detected to be faulty, the FL654A stops input to or output from such an I/O module and sets the noted module status to abnormal.

    9.1.1 Download Function The FL654A recognizes I/O configuration information that is downloaded using nV-Tool. The FL654A setup procedure is described in Chapter 8, Startup Using nV-Tool.
