Power Supply This instrument can be operated from the AC power supply (100 V to 240 V) by using the supplied AC adap- tor or four AA dry batteries.
8230E Optical Power Meter Operation Manual 1.8.2 Battery 1.8.2.1 How to Remove and Replace Batteries Turn off the power. Remove the AC adaptor if connected. Turn the two knobs on the battery cover to the OPEN position. Remove the battery cover and replace the batteries. Place the batteries in their correct position as shown in the battery holder.
All parts of the LCD display are lit. The product name such as 8230E is displayed in the measurement value display area and the connected sensor type is displayed in the wavelength display area. ("311B" is displayed when 82311B is con- nected.) The under bar is displayed when no sensor is connected.
1.11 Cleaning 1.11 Cleaning 1.11.1 Cleaning the 8230E Use a soft or damp cloth to clean the 8230E. CAUTION: Do not allow water inside the instrument. Do not use organic solvents solutions such as benzene, toluene, xylene, acetone, or thinner for cleaning because they deform the plastic.
The instrument must be warmed up for 30 minutes or more to reach operation performance specifications. 1.14 Calibration The 8230E must be calibrated by a qualified person with adequate instruments. For more information, refer to Chapter 7, "CALIBRATION." If no qualified person is available, contact an ADC CORPORATION sales representative.

The preset wavelength cannot be set and called by using the remote command. 3.5.1 Setting the Preset Wavelength The four wavelengths from No.0 to No.4 can be set.

When light falls on the photodiode in the sensor, the photo-electric current, which is generated, is converted into voltage through the IV converter, amplified, and then digitized through the AD converter as measure- ment data.
