■ Standby mode

When you have switched on the
phone, and it is registered to a
network, the phone is in the active
standby mode and ready for use.
To change the profile, press the
power key, and select a profile.
To open the list of last dialed
numbers, press the call key.
To use the voice commands, press
and hold the right selection key.
To start a connection to the Web,
press and hold 0.

Active standby mode

In the active standby mode, you
can use the main display for fast
access to frequently used
applications. To select whether the
active standby is shown, select
Menu >
Tools
>
Settings
Phone
>
Standby mode
standby
>
On
or Off.
To access active standby
applications, scroll up or down,
then scroll to the application, and
select it. In the active standby
mode the default applications are
shown across the top of the
display, and calendar, to-do, and

player events are listed below. To
select an application or event,
scroll to it, and press the joystick.

shortcuts
By default, the phone is in the
active standby mode, and the
joystick shortcuts available in
standby mode cannot be used. You
have to disable active standby to
use the following shortcuts.
To open Contacts, scroll up or
down, or press the joystick.
To open Calendar, scroll right.
To write a text message, scroll left.
To change the joystick application
shortcuts:
1. Select Menu >
Settings
mode.
2. Scroll to the shortcut you want
to change, and press the
joystick.

3. Scroll to a new application, and

Active
press the joystick.
Some shortcuts may be fixed and
cannot be changed.
