Printing with the Computer
Installing the printer driver on your personal computer enables you to connect it to
the printer for printing.

Installing the Printer Driver
To prepare your printer for printing, you must copy some software called a
"Printer Driver" to the hard disk in your personal computer, in a process called
"Installation".

Notes
• Use a computer equipped on which Windows XP or Windows 2000 can operate.
• Do not disconnect the cable or remove the CD-ROM during the installation. The
driver cannot be correctly installed.
• The screens below refer to Windows XP installation. Screens may differ depending
on the operating system you are using.
• Before installing the driver, disable all anti-virus programs and automatically
loading programs.
• When installing the printer driver in Windows XP or Windows 2000, log on to the
system as a member of the Administrators group.
• Do not switch users during the installation process.
• If the following screen appears automatically, click
Cancel to quit the screen and turn off the printer.
Next, remove and replace the USB cable connected
to your computer. Then follow steps 3 to 10 to install
the printer driver.
