This is because Nest Thermostat E comes with an integrated stand and isn’t designed to be mounted in place of the old thermostat (as seen on the previous page.) Instead, the Heat Link E is mounted where the old thermostat was and is connected to the existing thermostat wires.

Make sure that the mobile device's OS is up to date and that the Nest app is running the latest version. Restart the app/phone in case of pairing issues. - Page 9 Position the Heat Link E at least 30 cm away from boiler. Nest Thermostat E and the Heat Link E can only communicate wirelessly, so you need to consider the distance between the two devices and possible sources of interference, as described above.
