Grounding
1. The Generator must be properly grounded

Electric Starter Battery Connection
For the electric start function, the included 12 V DC
Battery must be connected before first use.
1. Remove the Battery Access Panel.
2. Make sure the black strap stretches over the top of
the Battery and hooks into the Battery Platform.
3. Remove the covers from the Battery Terminals.

2. To ground the Generator, connect a #4 AWG
grounding wire (not included) from the Grounding
Terminal on the Control Panel to a grounding rod
(not included). The grounding rod must be an
earth-driven copper or brass rod (electrode)
which can adequately ground the Generator.

ground source information.
4. Locate the black and red battery cables.
5. Connect the red cable to the positive battery
terminal first. Then connect the black
cable to the negative battery terminal.
6. Replace the Battery Access Panel.

When shutting off the generator (non-emergency) do you also turn off the Engine On/Off switch. The directions never mention to turn off this switch except if it is an emergency. It seems obvious that you would instead of only shutting off the Combination switch to starve it of gas.... help!
