  • Page 34 Retention Time Most accurate mass spectrometry systems use some type of chromatography. The SCIEX X500 QTOF System uses liquid chromatography (LC). A set retention time using a known standard for the compound on the LC system is used to identify a known target compound in a sample.

    Note: The LibraryView software must be installed. A licensed library can be installed from a DVD or from a .zip application file downloaded from the SCIEX Web site. The application file can include compound names, compound transition information, and compound library spectra.
