CAUTION: Before returning the set to the customer, be sure to carry out either (1) a leakage current check or (2) a line to chassis resistance check. If the leakage current exceeds 0.5 milliamps, or if the resistance from chassis to either side of the power cord is less than 460 kohms, the set is defective.
CAUTION IN SERVICING Initializing This Unit Make sure to initialize this unit after replacing the microcomputer or any peripheral equipment, or the PCB. 1. Press the power button to turn off the power. 2. While holding down the "ANALOG MODE" button, press the power button to turn on the power. 3.
DISASSEMBLY • Remove each part following the flow below. • Reassemble the removed parts in the reverse order. • Read "SAFETY PRECAUTIONS" before reassembling the removed parts. • If wire bundles are removed or moved during adjustment or part replacement, reshape the wires after completing the work.

1. Version Display Mode Version information is displayed when the device is started in this mode. 1.1. Starting up While holding down the "SOURCE DIRECT" button, press the power button to turn on the power. Next, rotate the "INPUT SELECTOR" button. The content of the Display in item 1.2 is displayed. Startup display "PMA-2500"...
2. Auto standby test mode Sets the auto standby timer to 4 minutes. 2.1. Operations Press and hold the "SOURCE DIRECT" button for over 1 second while in version display mode. "AutoStby Test" is displayed and then this unit enters the same mode as standard mode, except with an auto standby timer.
ADJUSTMENT Adjusting Idling Current 1. Preparation (1) Prepare a DC voltmeter. (2) Place the unit under normal usage conditions, away from highly ventilated areas such as next to an air conditioning machine or electric fan. The set requires an ambient temperature of 15℃ to 30℃ and standard humidity. (3) Settings of This Unit • Power button OFF • SPEAKER (Speaker terminal) No load (Do not connect equipment such as speakers or dummy resistors.) 2. Adjustment Procedure (1) Remove the top cover and turn "V5001" and "V6001" of the AMP PCB counterclockwise( c ) as far as possible. (2) Connect the DC Voltmeter to the test points. Lch : N5201 (8U-110204-1) Rch : N6201 (8U-110204-2) (3) Set this unit as follows. MASTER VOLUME : ( c min.) turn counterclockwise to the lowest position. SPEAKER (Speaker terminal) : No load (Do not connect equipment such as speakers or dummy resistors.) (4) Connect the power cord to an outlet. Next, press the power button to turn on the power. (5) O nce the power is on, rotate "V5001" and "V6001" clockwise ( x ) and adjust the test point voltage to "10mV ± 1mV DC".
PROCEDURE AFTER REPLACING THE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS. The procedure after replacing the printed circuit boards is as follows. (1) Change the resistor for setting the region. DIGITAL PCB Model Area R0117 Europe (E2) Japan (JP) OPEN See the PCB below. (2) Be sure to replace the software with the latest version.
(2) Press the power button to turn on the power. (3) Move the dedicated driver to the installed folder. (If the installation location of the dedicated driver has not been changed, it is stored in "C:\Program Files\Denon\Denon_USB_Driver".) (4) Rename the binary file for USB update as shown below. ModelName_DFU_MX25L4006E.bin (Ex.) PMA2500NE_DFU_MX25L4006E.bin (Do not include a hyphen in the model name.)

2.3. Run the FLASHSTA (1) Double-click "FLASHSTA.EXE" to launch M16 Flash Start. (2) Select [Internal flash memory] in the Select Program. Select the COM Port number. Click [OK]. (3) Click [Refer...].

(6) Click [Setting...]. (7) Select 57600 as the baud rate. (DO NOT select the rate other than 57600.) Click [OK]. Once configured, the settings are retained. If a problem such as a connection error occurs, setting will be required again.

(10) Software is written onto the Internal Flash-ROM. It takes about 1 minute 30 seconds to complete the writing procedure. It takes about 50 seconds to complete checking the software. (11) Click [OK]. In case of failure, repeat the procedure from (8).

(12) Click [Exit]. (13) Remove the AC power plug and turn off the power. (14) Remove the (8U-210100S) form this unit.
TROUBLE SHOOTING 1. The power cannot be turned on (Power indicator LED is not lit) Check insertion of the connector of the AC1 PCB. Check insertion of the connector of the POWER SW PCB. Check insertion of the connector of the DIGITAL PCB. Check that voltage is supplied to the STANDBY TRANS [T8501] Broken wire in STANDBY TRANS [T8501] coil...
