Connecting a DTV receiver (or Set-Top Box)
and a VCR
This connection allows you to watch digital broadcasts and video or
TV programs, and record DTV or TV programs. You can record
from one source while watching a program from another source.
Connecting your TV to a ColorStream (component video)
compatible DTV receiver can greatly enhance picture quality and
performance.
You will need:
• one coaxial cable
• three pairs of audio cables (two single and one pair of audio
cables for a mono VCR)
• two video cables
• one set of ColorStream video cables

Note:
To watch DTV, the DTV receiver and TV must
use ColorStream video cables. You can use
either the ColorStream HD1 or ColorStream
HD2 inputs for connecting the DTV.
To record from the DTV, set the VCR to
LINE IN.
To monitor recording from the DTV, set the
)
VCR to Line IN, and set the TV to Video-1.
The ColorStream HD1 and HD2 jacks can
be used with both Progressive (480p) and
Interlace (480i, 1080i) scan systems.
If you receive the 1080i source, you may
need to change the picture size. See
"Selecting 1080i picture size" on page 42.
