NEVER let the temperature on the hood thermometer exceed 250 degrees Celsius.     USE AND CHARACTERISTICS INSTALLATION SELECTING A LOCATION Failure to follow these instructions may result and/or property damage.     Reminder to do a leak test (See pg7.) GAS CYLINDER A 9kg ALVA gas cylinder with a 5/8 inch BSP left hand thread is recommended. This will match the supplied regulator. Cylinders must be stored in an upright position, in a well ventilated and damp free area and out of reach of children.

    Consult your gas or barbecue supplier for advice. Flame Thrower Ignition: This ignition system works by throw- ing a to the side of the burner to light it. Push the knob in and turn anticlockwise to the HIGH position. Hold the knob in until the burner ignites.

    FLARE UP CONTROL Do not touch any hot BBQ parts. The outside of the BBQ bottom especially becomes very hot during use. Use protective gloves to handle any parts that might become hot during use.     Always remember to switch the barbeque OFF once you are BRAAI TIP END OF COOKING OPERATION After each cooking session, turn the braai burners to the HIGH position and burn for 5 minutes. This procedure will burn off cooking residue, thus making cleaning easier.The lid must be off or the hood open during this procedure.

    Turn the braai OFF at the control knobs and at the gas supply valve. Using ALVA's Food Safe Cleaner and warm water, scrub the cooking surfaces with a long handled brush or scourer. Rinse thoroughly with fresh warm water.

    SERVICING YOUR BRAAI Apart from cleaning, your braai is a fairly low maintenance item. A couple of things are worth looking at though. Remember to turn OFF, cool the braai down and disconnect the gas before any maintenance is carried out. If there are any signs of wear or cracking in the braai hose, you will need to replace it immediately.
