1.11 Changing the earcaps 1.1 Using your Huawei TalkBand B5 The Huawei TalkBand B5 is a smart band that serves as a Bluetooth calling device, a fitness tracker, an exercise monitor, a sleep monitor, a heart rate monitoring, a message notification device.

To use outdoor cycling mode, your phone must support Connect GPS (your phone must either be an iPhone or an Android phone running Huawei EMUI 5.0 or later). If your phone does not support Connect GPS, there will be no prompts displayed on your band.
Please wear your band in a comfortable and tight manner during exercise to ensure that the heart rate data monitored are accurate. Your Huawei TalkBand B5 comes in three strap styles, each of which is worn differently: Sport strap: To wear the sport strap, insert the strap sideways into the hole of the buckle, and then fasten the buckle.

1 Getting started 1.4 Manipulating your band screen The Huawei TalkBand B5 features a 1.13-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 300 x 160 pixels. You can touch, swipe, and hold on the screen to input a variety of different commands.

Search for and install the Huawei Health app in the app store. If you are using a Huawei phone, install the Huawei Health app from the Google Play Store.
Download and install the Huawei Health app in the Apple App Store. Open the Huawei Health app. In the Divice screen, touch + in the upper right corner, and select Smart Band>Huawei TalkBand B5. Touch PAIR. The Huawei Health app will then search for the band automatically.
Janus Online Help_en_V1.0 1 Getting started 1.9 Changing home screen styles Your Huawei TalkBand B5 comes with multiple home screen styles. There are two ways to change your home screen style. Method 1: Press and hold the home screen until your band vibrates. When the home screen zooms out and frames are displayed, swipe up and down on the screen to select your desired home screen style.
2 Basic operations 2.2 Finding your phone with the band Forgot where you put your phone? You can use your Huawei TalkBand B5 to find it. In the More screen, touch Find phone. An animation will display on the screen. If your phone is within Bluetooth range, it will play a ringtone (even in Silent mode) to notify you of its location.
To use this feature, ensure that the Bluetooth headset is on your band, your band is connected to your phone over Bluetooth, and the Huawei Health app is running in the background or foreground. If no phone is found within 10 to 20 seconds, a failure icon will display. You can touch the icon to try again.
Select Use GPS, WLAN, and mobile networks for the positioning mode instead of Use GPS only. The weather information displayed on your band is from the Huawei Health app, and may differ slightly from that displayed on your phone. ...
3.5 Syncing and sharing your fitness and health data 3.1 Recording your fitness data Your Huawei TalkBand B5 can automatically identify your activity type, such as walking, running, sleeping, and inactive. After your band identifies that you are walking or running, it will automatically record the steps, distance, and calories to the daily exercise data.
You can view your detailed fitness data, such as step count, calories burnt, and exercise distance, in the Huawei Health app. To view your fitness data in the Huawei Health app, ensure that your band is connected to the app. Your fitness data is reset every day at midnight.
Touch the end button after the workout ends to prolong the battery life. 3.3 Heart rate monitoring The Huawei TalkBand B5 features an optical heart rate sensor, which can monitor and record your heart rate all day. To use this feature, you need to enable Automatically measure heart rate in the Huawei Health app.

You can set a maximum heart rate and heart rate interval on your band. During the exercise, if your heart rate exceeds the maximum value you set in the Huawei Health app (220 – your age by default), your band will vibrate to notify you. You can press the side button or swipe right on the screen to cancel the heart rate alarm.
Janus Online Help_en_V1.0 3 Fitness and health When your band is connected to the Huawei Health app, if you start a workout in the app, your band can also measure your heart rate. Automatic heart rate measurement When your band is connected to your phone, you can enable Automatically measure heart rate in the device details screen in the Huawei Health app.
To share your fitness data to a third-party app, in the Huawei Health app, go to Me > Data sharing, select the third-party app you wish to share the data to, and follow the onscreen instructions to share the data.
4.9 Adjusting the volume 4.1 Adding contacts Open the Huawei Health app, go to the device details screen of your band, touch Favorite contacts, and then touch the + icon in the lower left corner of the screen. You will then be directed to your phone's address book.

When the Bluetooth headset is not on the band, touch the screen to mute the incoming call. Your band will stop vibrating after you mute an incoming call. If your phone is a Huawei phone running EMUI 4.1 or later , your phone will be muted as well. After the other party ends the call, a missed call notification will display.
Select a contact and take out the headset to make the phone call. If there are no contacts on your band, "You can add contacts in the Huawei Health app" will display. You can add a maximum 10 contacts to your band.
For iOS users: Open the Huawei Health app, touch your profile icon on the top-left corner of the home screen, and go to Settings > Push messages. Enable Push messages. At the same time, enable the notification function for apps you want to receive notifications from on your phone.
6.1 Setting a Smart alarm You can use the Huawei Health app to set a Smart alarm, which wakes you up in advance when the band detects that you are in light sleep in order to help you feel more alert when you wake up.
Huawei Health app, turn off the alarm switch, and turn it on again. 6.2 Setting an Event alarm You can use the Huawei Health app to set a maximum of five Event alarms to remind you of daily and work activities, such as meetings and gatherings.

7.2 Updating your band and the Huawei Health app For a better user experience, new updates are released from time to time. When a new update is available, perform the following steps to update your Huawei TalkBand B5 and the Huawei Health app.

8.3 Adjusting or replacing the strap 8.1 Water and dust resistance Your Huawei TalkBand B5 supports IP57 water and dust resistance. This means that you can wear the band when you are washing your hands and in the rain. If your band comes into contact with water, wipe it dry promptly to prevent the microphone from being blocked.
