– Centre spreader plug -2- and install when window -3- is re‐
moved.
– Press spreader pin -1- flush into spreader plug -2-.
– Guide door window -3- into door and insert door window into
slot of window regulator -4-.
– With light pressure from above -arrow-, engage window -3- in
window regulator -4-.
– Then perform remaining installation in reverse order of remov‐
al.
• Carry out functional test function before installing door trim.
4.4 Removing and installing window regula‐
tor motor
Note
The removal and installation sequence is for the right window
regulator motor only. The removal and installation of the left win‐
dow regulator motor is similar.
4.4.1 Removing
– Remove door trim ⇒ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.
70 ; Door trims, saloon and estate .
– Secure door window against sliding down with adhesive tape.
– Unscrew the three bolts -3-.
– Separate electrical connector -2-.
– Remove window regulator motor with control unit -1- from as‐
sembly carrier.
4.4.2 Installing
WARNING
If a new window regulator motor is installed (door control unit),
the additional functions and the excess force limitation feature
have to be coded!
– Position window regulator motor and gently pull door window
up and down to facilitate motor and cable drum toothing inter‐
mesh.
– Specified torque of window regulator motor bolts: 3.5 Nm
– A new window regulator motor is coded using vehicle diagno‐
sis, testing and information system - VAS 5051 A- .
