For use with radial arm and table saws only

Always use proper eye and respiratory protection.

Wear appropriate hearing protection during use. Under some con-
ditions and duration of use, noise from this product may contribute
to hearing loss.

Do not wear any loose fitting clothing when operating the saw.

Always unplug your machine when removing or changing the
blades.

Read and follow your power tool safety warnings and instructions.

Always use properly adjusted tool guard if possible to do so.
.
Always carefully rotate dado cutter one full revolution by hand to
check clearances before use.
.
Always make the required depth of cut in small increments
to
ensure quality of cut and to maintain control of workpiece (prevent
kickback).

Never cut entirely through workpiece when using a dado set;
separated pieces may be thrown.

Never use a warped or bowed workpiece; bjnding and kickback

Never use chippers alone; grabbing and kickback will result.
Always use dado set with both outer blades.
NOTE: Outer clamp washer may be removed to gain full thread
engagement with nut when setting up dado to make wider cuts.

Always use dado insert to provide adequate
workpiece
support
.
Make sure workpiece is supported to prevent falling onto the cutter
as cut is completed.
NOTE:
Use of a jig or fixture will help to support large workpieces.

When Using a Radial
Arm Saw and Dado Set

Position blade guard and anti-kickback device properly when
using dado set in vertical "ripping" position.
.
Position dado guard properly when edge cutting with dado set in
horizontal position.
.
In crosscut~mode, nevercposition workpiece=between~cutter and
fence. Position guard and anti-kickback device properly for cross-
cut, be prepared to resist possible tendency of cutter head to self
feed.
Tips for Using a Dado
Set
. The maximum dado width for a DEWALT DW746 table saw is
13/16" (20mm), with outer clamp washer removed.
. To ensure accuracy of cut, clean all faces of the cutters.
. When using more than one chipper, they should be equally
spaced in the recess of the adjoining chipper (i.e., teeth at 45" to
each other). Ensure the carbide tips of the outside saw blades
and tips of the chippers do not come into contact with each other.
.
Install with the high points of teeth of the outer blades
to the out-
side of the stack as shown in Figure 1.
