iXinox 24 C 1. Operating instructions 1.1 Introduction Dear Customer, iXinox 24 C is a high-efficiency, low emissions premix condensing heat generator with heat exchanger in s/steel and incorporated DHW production, using natural gas or LPG and equipped with a microprocessor control system. The sealed chamber unit is suitable for indoor installation or outdoors in a partially protected place (according to EN 15502) with temperatures to -5°C (-15°C with optional frost protection kit).
iXinox 24 C Comfort A Comfort demand (reinstatement of temperature inside the boiler) is indicated by flashing of the Comfort symbol. The display (detail 12 - fig. 1) shows the actual temperature of the water in the boiler. Fault In case of a fault (see cap. 3.4 "Troubleshooting") the display shows the fault code (detail 12 - fig. 1) and during safety pause times the messages “d3”...
iXinox 24 C When the boiler is turned off, the circuit board is still powered. Domestic hot water and heating are disa- bled. The frost protection system remains activated. To relight the boiler, press the winter/summer/off button (detail 7 - fig. 1) twice. fig.
Page 7
iXinox 24 C DHW temperature adjustment Use the DHW buttons (detail 1 and 2 - fig. 1) to adjust the temperature from a min. of 40°C to a max. of 55°C. If little water is drawn and/or with a high water inlet tempera- ture, the DHW outlet tempera- ture may differ from the set temperature.
Page 8
iXinox 24 C Press the reset button (detail 6 - fig. 1) again for 5 seconds to exit the "Sliding Temperature" menu. If the room temperature is lower than the required value, it is advisable to set a higher order curve and vice versa. Pro- ceed by increasing or decreasing in steps of one and check the result in the room.
Page 9
iXinox 24 C System water pressure adjustment The filling pressure read on the boiler water gauge (detail 2 - fig. 16) with system cold must be approx 1.0 bar. If the system pressure falls below minimum va- lues, the boiler stops and fault F37 is displayed. Pull out the filling knob (detail 1 - fig.
iXinox 24 C 2. Installation 2.1 General Instructions BOILER INSTALLATION MUST ONLY BE PERFORMED BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL, IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN IN THIS TECHNICAL MANUAL, THE PROVISIONS OF CURRENT LAW, THE PRE- SCRIPTIONS OF NATIONAL AND LOCAL STANDARDS AND THE RULES OF PROPER WORKMANSHIP. 2.2 Place of installation The combustion circuit is sealed with respect to the place of installation and therefore the unit can be installed in any room except in a garage.
Page 11
iXinox 24 C Plumbing kit (optional) A kit of fittings (code 012043W0) for the hydraulic con- nection of the boiler to the wall is available on request. fig. 18- Plumbing kit Antifreeze system, antifreeze fluids, additives and inhibitors When necessary, antifreeze fluids, additives and inhibitors can be used only if the manufacturer of such fluids or addi- tives guarantees that they are suitable and do not cause damage to the exchanger or other components and/or mate- rials of the boiler and system.
iXinox 24 C scale, neutral pH stabilizers and, in low-temperature systems, specific biocides for use in heating systems. Recommended chemical conditioners: SENTINEL X100 and SENTINEL X200 FERNOX F1 and FERNOX F3 The unit is equipped with a frost protection system that activates the boiler in hea- ting mode when the system delivery water temperature falls below 6°C.
Page 13
iXinox 24 C The boiler is prewired and provided with a three-pole cable, without a plug, for con- nection to the electric line. The connections to the grid must be made with a per- manent connection and equipped with a bipolar switch whose contacts have a minimum opening of at least 3 mm, interposing fuses of max.
iXinox 24 C Variable output relay LC32 card (optional - 043011X0) The variable output relay LC32 consists of a small card with a changeover of free contacts (closed means contact between C and NO). Operation is managed by the software. For installation, carefully follow the instructions provided in the kit package and on the wiring diagram of fig.
