Replacing the Battery In most cases the 3 volt lithium battery does not need replacing if the thermostat has a continual power supply. Its sole purpose is to ensure correct time keeping during a power loss to the thermostat. To remove the battery use a small at head screw driver or ngertip to push back the brass retaining bracket.
