Find the Serial Number of an Array Using the CLI
Procedure
1 Find the serial number of an array.
shelf --array array name --list
2 Look for the serial number in the list of information.
Example
Nimble OS $ shelf --array rackarray3 --list

the GUI
Obtain information about your array before performing general maintenance, software updates, or hardware
upgrades.
Before you begin
Before performing any upgrades, replacements, or general maintenance on your HPE Nimble Storage
hardware, use the following steps to check the model number, NimbleOS version running on your array, and
the operating state.
Procedure
1 In the NimbleOS GUI, choose Hardware
2 Click the link for the array.
Look in the Properties section for the model number and OS version.

3 Note the status of Controller A and Controller B.
Important
One controller should be Active and the other in Standby. If any other state is shown, contact HPE Nimble
Storage Support.
