Hi, I have the Go and Grow car seat and have a few questions. It was purchased in late 2020 if that matters. My son threw up in the car all over his car seat. We took the fabric covers off and washed them per the instructions. My husband sprayed the shell and straps down with the hose. Is it okay that the shell/straps got wet? I have a friend who’s a car seat safety technician and she said to replace the car seat altogether now. My other question is my dog chewed the buckle while it was detached and on our patio. It is very chewed but still clicks in place. I’d like to replace it and (if I don’t have to replace the entire car seat due to getting wet) was wondering if it’s possible to get a replacement buckle? Thanks so much.

It is not safe for the harness straps to get excessively wet, as spills can lead to mold, bacterial growth, or attract insects or rodents. Only spot clean using warm sudsy water and a damp cloth. Do not use the car seat with damaged harness straps.
Yes, you can get a replacement buckle for the car seat. The Buckle Assembly costs $7.99.
