I have a pool and spa combination, and the spa keeps emptying into the pool. Once the recycle program starts, the spa fills backup, however every morning the spa is empty. How can I troubleshoot this ?

To troubleshoot the issue of your Pentair EasyTouch PL4 spa emptying into the pool, follow these steps:

1. Check Valve Actuators (CVA-24T): Verify that both valve actuators are correctly set for suction and return. Use the toggle switch on the back of the actuator to adjust the valve position.

2. Inspect the Valve Positions: Press the "Valves (V)" button on the control panel and step through all four valve positions (Pool, Spa, etc.) to ensure they are functioning correctly.

3. Service Mode Check: Ensure the system is not in "Service" or "Timeout" mode, as these can affect valve operation.

4. Filter Pump Operation: Press the "Filter Pump (F)" button to activate the pump and confirm water is circulating properly between the pool and spa.

5. Solar Valve Configuration (if applicable): If you have a solar system, check that the solar valve has rotated correctly from the “solar bypass” position to the “solar” position.

6. Check for Plumbing Issues: Ensure that the plumbing setup follows the recommended hydraulic schematics and that the spa is at or above the pool level if attached.

If the issue persists, consider resetting the system or consulting a professional for further diagnosis.
